I’m Maria and the brains behind Maria’s Cakes & Bakes. I am a part time home based baker located in Eastleigh. I started the business as a spur of the moment decision after encouragement from my friends and, without even asking if i could use my parents kitchen at the time (oops!). The business has grown steadily over the last 5 years, outgrowing and affording a kitchen and home of my own and I am always learning new techniques and styles.

I make all sorts of treats and celebration cakes from engagement cupcakes, to birthdays cake, and to stuffed cookies.
I have a cake ‘style’ and I like to turn your ideas into my style. I specialise in drip cakes and buttercream cakes. I only decorate cakes using buttercream icing (the swirly stuff you get on top of a cupcake) because I think it’s much more tasty! 🤤

*Please note I do not decorate cakes using fondant icing (the stuff your nan used to cover her old Christmas cakes in). But please don't let this put you off. If you have an image of something you have seen I can normally recreate it.*

You'll find my stall at local events throughout the year, and regularly at Romsey Makers Market! Products normally include copious amounts of Cupcakes, Cookies, Brownies and huge Cookie Pie slices big enough that you might actually have to share for once. Just kidding, who really shares their treats now?!
